Let’s Have Fun and Raise Money
First and foremost, thank you for your interest in this fundraising effort for Child Foundation. Now let me introduce myself. My name is Bahram Ghiasinejad. During the Portland Iranian Festival during the summer of 2006, I picked up a brochure from the Child Foundation booth and was so moved by what I read. It was one of those rare occasions in life that you find something so personal, that reaches out and grabs your heart.
Here I am with my two bundles of joy! In an effort to incorporate my passion for cycling with fundraising for Child Foundation, I will be participating in the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic – a tour that Bicycling Magazine has listed as one of the best cycling events in the nation. With over 9,000 participants, it is the largest multi-day bicycle event in the Northwest. This year it will occur on July 14 and 15.
As I contemplated my plan to fundraise for Child Foundation, I began to get excited! The possibilities seemed endless! In April, American Idol’s feature, "Idol Gives Back" generated a remarkable $70 million to fight poverty in Africa and the U.S. Now, I feel, it is time for us to give back. Our goal is to raise $10,000 through the generosity of Iranians and others who care about the future of children around the world. The first $1,000 has been raised, so the race is on!
I invite you to make a donation to this worthy cause and help children around the world reach their potential. You may also join me in cycling the event and raising money.
