Child Foundation – Legal Internship - 2017

Child Foundation (CF) is a non-profit organization that keeps talented children in school by providing financial support to them and their families.  CF helps children in need across the globe with humanitarian aid such as food assistance, medical services, and educational empowerment.  The organization assists children in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, and is currently in the process of expanding to Haiti, Sri Lanka, and other locations around the world.

CF is seeking a Legal Intern at our Portland, OR headquarters this summer to work with the Legal Compliance Committee to draft, review and update several internal policies, procedures and training manuals for the organization.  The Legal Intern may be law student or recent law school graduate, and will work directly with CF’s legal counsel and staff/board compliance officers to complete legal research and document drafting assignments related to the organization’s compliance with applicable laws, including IRS, OFAC, FCPA, and other administrative regulations.Applicant must be fully fluent in English (native speaker or equivalent) and must have (or be pursuing) a J.D. at a US-accredited law school.


The Legal Intern will be paid a monthly stipend of $1,500/month, as well as $700/month for housing expenses.  The organization will also provide a one-time travel assistance payment of up to $500 for candidates who reside outside of Portland, OR.   Start and end dates are flexible and may be adjusted to accommodate the right candidate.
