Position: Public Relations/Outreach Coordinator
Description of the Organization : Child Foundation is a 503(c) (3) organization, incorporated in the State of Oregon and exempt from tax and was founded in 1994. CF’s mission is to help children in need, who have been identified as high achievers, stay in school. We believe that education can move a child beyond the stigma of poverty and give that child the tools to reach his or her true and full potential.
CF recruits sponsors who contribute monthly scholarship stipends for the children they choose to sponsor. CF works with social service agencies in other countries who screen and select eligible children and ensure that donations reach the children.
Scope of Responsibility: Public Relations/Outreach Coordinator (PROC) reports and works under the direction of the Director of Administration. PROC will coordinate with Marketing and Business Development Consultant.
Essential Job Functions
1- Events- Develop new fundraising events and maintain and improve existing event programs.
2- Volunteers- Maintain and expand volunteers and organize their efforts. Coordinate volunteers’ activities for events and fundraising efforts in the different volunteer categories (i.e. VIP, Performing, Seasonal, etc.)
3- Social Media- maintain and improve current social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, telegram, etc.) postings in coordination with the Marketing Consultant.
4- Advocacy- communicates with elected and appointed officials to advocate CF programs and presence in coordination with International Committee Chair.
5- Networking- Maintain the network of volunteers and sponsors by encouraging inter-communication to develop an ever-growing network community.
6- Publicity- Coordinate ongoing publicity activities and develop new methods of publicity in coordination with Marketing Consultant.
7- Graphics & Publications- Manage the ongoing regular publications (i.e. Newsletters, Nowruz, Annual reports, etc.). Coordinate the graphics design of all digital and print publications in coordination with staff and the IT Manager. Improve, update and modernize the graphics of CF image and brand.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 1 year experience or equivalent internship
• Knowledge of public relations and outreach
• Experience with social media and networking
• Minimum of two years Public relations and outreach, social media, advocacy, publicity
