Hello Family and Friends,
I want to share with you a passion in my life. On a recent trip to Iran I was met with substantial economic changes taken place in my country and its impact to the common everyday peoples’ lives. As always, the children are the swiftest to suffer. I specifically became aware of two schools whose students are in need, one in Mashhad and one in Sabzevar. These children are either community raised orphans or are from struggling families.
On my way back to the States in this trip, I decided if I have the chance to bring a smile to the faces of these little angels, even though momentarily by receiving a small gift ‘eidi’, that I should make it happen. Iranian's New Year, Nowrouz, takes place at the being of spring (March 22nd). Much like the Easter season, Nowrouz is a season of rebirth and renewal. In Nowrouz, it is our tradition to give gifts to children and buy them new cloths. I hope that I can share this dream with you and I would like to ask you to extend your family to all of those who are in need. To do this, we will all need to find what we can share. Your donation can be as small as your daily coffee, or as big as you wish. The money donated will go directly to helping the schools to obtain the essential items, such as cloths, shoes and food needed for about 120 children.
For your information, Child Foundation, which is transferring the money, has a minimal 6.5% administrative/service fee. Contributions are tax-deductible, and they have an OFAC license from the United States’ Department of Treasury to send $3 Million of donation to Iran. We are trying to make this process as transparent as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. You can make your contributions by simply clicking the link above on this page. Send me a private message if you want to arrange alternative methods of payments.
Love,
Maryam Motamed
