In these last days of the year 2018, we look back to see what we have done, what we have achieved, and where we have made a difference in order to plan for the next year’s roadmap.
I am extremely proud to report to you that we surpassed even our own optimistic projections. We planned to increase our covered children’s need by 10%, but thanks to your support we were able to
raise it to more than 36%.
Here are some of the achievements we owe to your generous assistance:
Increased the number of children supported by Child Foundation’s unique monthly scholarship and its sister foundation to more than 10,500
Purchased 107 conexes to replace classrooms destroyed by the earthquake in Kermanshah’s region
Provided thousands of food baskets to Kermanshah earthquake victims as well as other families in need in Afghanistan, Iran, and Cambodia
Managed to send $640,000 collected donations to an Belgian hospital to support a young boy called Radin who suffered from SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), and managed to get needed medical equipment for other SMA patients as well
Expanded our Afghanistan programs and increased the number of students we support by hundreds, provided coals for them to heat their homes, and established a center to help scores of children with Thalassemia
Sent more than 3,500 backpacks to children for the start of their new school year
Provided 2,000 pairs of shoes to children of Qum, Kashan and south Roodbar and delivered 3 conexes to replace classrooms in S. Roodbar that was held in shacks
Vaccinated Yemeni children for Cholera in cooperating with Doctors without Borders
Started our Cambodian sponsorship program as part of expanding our international programs
Ran 2 large Nowruz Bazaars in southern California where thousands participated to support
Received a 4-star rating from the Charity Navigator for the 3rd consecutive year achieving one of their highest transparency ratings
Assisted families struck by the Texas Harvey Hurricane in cooperation with United Way of Houston
Helped hundreds of immigrant children and their families at the border by providing them with food and shelter in collaboration with Kino Border Initiative
Raised funds to help Rohingya children who had escaped with nothing but their life from Myanmar to camps in Bangladesh
And so much more…
Next year, we WILL increase the number of our monthly scholarships to more than 12,000, and we will start our scholarship program here in the United States for children in need. Our international programs will expand to other countries, and more children in need of assistance with their medical expenses will receive our help.
These plans and much more are only possible if you continue to help and support our organization. Please use these last few days of the year to donate to Child Foundation to not only make a positive change in this world but also benefit from the tax-deductibility of your donation for 2018.
