Ohio helps Flood Victims

Recent floods in Iran have completely swamped Khorramabad, the capital of Lorestan province. The city's airport is also submerged and all flights to and from Khorramabad have been cancelled. Running water is no longer available in 620 villages in Lorestan. According to IRNA, over 50,000 homes have been damaged and over 12,000 km (7,450 miles) of roads have been damaged or washed away. The rail link between the capital Tehran and Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan was severed on Monday. Roads have also been blocked in northern parts of the country. The highway from Rasht, on the Caspian Sea and Qazvin to the south has been cut. In Khuzestan, 13 villages are entirely flooded and another 34 villages have been forced to evacuate.

It is this time of crisis that we come together. We, Iranian-Americans of Ohio proudly join Child Foundation to help our fellow citizens who are experiencing one of the most difficult times of their lives. We encourage everyone to donate generously to Iran Flood Fund to help.
