Our community mourns the loss of a generous soul. Tragically, Dr. Farideh Toorany passed away in the Sina Athar Health Center fire in northern Tehran on June 30, 2020 while caring for a patient.  Dr. Toorany was a vibrant community member and a Shahid Beheshti University graduate general surgeon. Always working on behalf of her community, she was an active member of the Iranian American Academics and Professionals (IAAP) Board of Directors in Washington, DC.

She leaves behind many who already miss her dearly including her husband, Dr. Manouchehr Farkhondeh, president of the IAAP in Washington, DC.

The Child Foundation family remembers her with fondness and will dedicate funds donated in her honor to the welfare of vulnerable children at Dr. Farkhondeh’s discretion.
