The family owns a house in a village near the city of Birjand. Their only income source is a very small government subsidy and some monetary assistance from a charity, which is not enough for the ever-increasing living expenses. Mahdiyeh’s father has a hard time making ends meet.

Currently their income is only the government subsidies and what little Habibollah’s mother makes from needlework. All of this is not enough for their daily expenses and his father’s treatment. It has put them in a difficult situation. This family has already applied for charitable aid but has not received any help yet. Habibollah has three sisters and three brothers. Only one of his brothers goes to school.

Their two-room house is owned by Seyed Mahdi's uncle, who lives in Iran. The old house’s roof may collapse if it rains or snows. They share the house with Seyed Mahdi’s married older brother. The bathroom has no doors, no plumbing. The family has no refrigerator, washing machine, or air conditioner. Having so little for so many is very difficult but poverty has forced the family to live this way.

Their bathroom lacks plumbing or a roof, which makes bathing extremely difficult. They live without many basic necessities.

He lives with his widowed mother, stepmother and grandmother and their combined eight children in one room with no running water, refrigerator or other basic amenities. The family is grappling with hunger. Bread and tea are the main food for breakfast and lunch, and potatoes, eggs or boiled turnips for dinner. Pir Mohammad's kind and revered grandmother, a well-respected 65-year-old matriarch, also lives in the same house.

They married at an early age due to financial problems. Haniyeh and her siblings (one brother and one sister) are from her father's second marriage. Haniyeh's mother has lumbar disc disease and cannot manage her life. Haniyeh and her family make a living with the help of benefactors. The only income the family receives is government subsidies and a stipend from a charity, which is not enough to cover their living costs. The family lives in a rented house. Thankfully, charities financed the mortgage. They bought a very small house recently with the help of a relative who got a marriage loan and a donor's support. This new place is still under construction, and the family needs help to finish it.

Momena’s father’s suffers from respiratory disease and he struggles to find work to support his family of six. He is embarrassed to come home empty handed and has depression. They live in a rented basement room in a shared house built with mud walls and a wooden roof, lacking basic sanitation and essentials. Their only furnishing is a worn-out TV stand and an old carpet that fails to keep warm against the cold floor.
