The house that they used to live in was built on a loan received from a charity. They now live in Mobina's maternal grandmother’s house. Their source of income is through government subsidies and occasional support from her grandmother. The family is in an unfavorable economic situation.

Zahra is a talented student in seventh grade. She was born in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi, Iran. Her father remarried Zahra's mother when his first wife died. He was a farmer and used to earn a living in this way. He died in 2013 due to cancer. Zahra's mother moved to Mashhad with her only child after the death of her husband. As she does not have a permanent job or any skills, she works various seasonal jobs such as cleaning saffron flowers, peeling pistachios, etc. to cover for her life expenses. In this way, she earns a small income. It should be noted that Zahra’s mother earns some money through the non-continuous work and pension of her husband. A few years ago, Zahra's mother was able to buy an old and dilapidated house with the help of relatives. The house is not in a decent area from a cultural and economic point of view.
According to family circumstances Zahra needs support to continue her education and makes her dreams come true. Child Foundation has granted her $20/month scholarship.

Zeinab is a 15-year-old girl in 10th grade. She lives with her mother and brother on the outskirts of Tehran, Iran. She is a talented student and attends after-school English classes. Zeinab suffers from thalassemia minor and is seeking treatment. She lost her dad to a heart attack. Unfortunately, after her father’s death her family has become impoverished. Her mother works as a house cleaner occasionally. Like Zeinab, she suffers from thalassemia minor. Zeinab’s older brother is a Mechanical Engineering student. He works at a furniture manufacturer to put himself through college. Their family lives in a small house that was purchased by their dad. The family’s income is from charities, government subsidies and the mom’s small income which barely covers their expenses.

To best meet the needs of our Iranian students amidst US sanctions, the sponsor of this child will be a cosponsor alongside a sponsor from inside Iran to form a stable cosponsorship. Each month the child’s family will receive food from our sponsor and a small stipend from the Iran sponsor.
